Case note
Uber’s initial notice said it was responding to a cybersecurity incident. Its investigation later described compromise of a contractor account, access to additional employee accounts and internal tools, and precautionary removal of some software systems.
The issuer’s timeline records the first notice at 6:25 p.m. Pacific, well after the US session. September 15 is the baseline and September 16 is the first reaction close.
